Nice Running Forest Machine participated in the MIK Hot Spot (Made in Korea Online Exhibition) KHIDI and introduced Forest Running Mate with high hopes of meeting buyers and investors.

Q. Background for developing the product

As the factors like fine dust that limit external activities are increasing, I wanted to make a treadmill that could bring out the effect of the aerobic exercise and break the boredom of the existing treadmill and make the indoor exercise more fun. In particular, we wanted to make a treadmill that provides the same experience as running in the forests and trekking courses in foreign countries at home.

Q. About our product

Forest Running Mate is a system that connects a smartphone, TV screen, and treadmill. When you run the application on your smartphone and select a course from the app, the selected course appears on the TV screen. And, when the user adjusts the speed on the treadmill, Forest Running Mate recognizes the speed adjustment and adjusts the speed of the video.

Q. Features of the product

You can get the feeling of running outdoors without having to go outside, and by being portable, our product can easily be taken out from home and used in other treadmills. It is made up of the mirroring device and the speed measurement device, and we will make the app available in the marketplace. We haven’t decided on whether provide it for free or at a cost.

Q. Reliability

We have applied for one international patent and two domestic patents. I’m studying at a relevant graduate school, and I am working with a patent attorney who can handle international patents whom I got to know through a friend, a professor mechanical engineering to control instruments, and a doctor in forestry field who can collaborate with international forest institutions.

Q. Future plans

I am thinking of making a product that provides the experience of running the course with the image of beautiful landscapes around the world or trekking course on TV screen at home by collaborating with a company that has a platform that can share trekking course videos. First, we are planning to improve the prototype and launch the product by the end of this year or early next year.
