New attempt to promote Korean companies to domestic and foreign markets in post-coronavirus era!
On Apr. 21, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced at the National Council that they enacted the enactment of the Enforcement Decree of the Medical Device Industry Fostering and Innovative Medical Device Supporting Act. The enforcement decree is to take effect on May 1. It is expected to be a starting point for accelerating the development and commercialization of innovative products in Korea’s medical device industry, and it will foster the medical device industry and expand new treatment opportunities. It is meaningful in the way that it accelerates the development and commercialization of innovative products and industrial development at the present time when the medical device companies are actively developing technologies and entering the global market.
For this, MIK HOT SPOT, the online exhibition for investment and business expansion of the innovative companies in KHIDI Health Industry Startup Innovation Center that will lead Korea, opened on April 30. As the business through online is rapidly growing due to the coronavirus issue, various attempts are being made to activate online business and investment in preparation for non-face-to-face economic growth.
Online exhibitions are expected to become a trend rather than countermeasures in the post-coronavirus era, and many company supporting organizations including KOTRA, KITA, and KOSMES are making various attempts to promote online exports.
AVING NEWS, Korea’s only convention media and online exhibition center by itself, began this project to help small and medium-sized Korean companies to enter the domestic and foreign markets through MIK Hot Spot (Made in Korea Online Exhibition) on its way to become the global online hot spot.
The online exhibition consists of opening the MIK ONLINE HOT SPOT exhibition, business introduction video for buyers and investors, domestic and global promotion, target promotion for MIK HOT SPOT network, and post-management after contacting the buyers and investors, open for 365 days a year.

△ Eye Bio Korea
Eye Bio Korea is developing eye drop-type macular degeneration treatment made with new peptide. The synthetic peptide under development is a 7-mer size which is small in size and easy to synthesize, making it outstanding in production. It has gone through prior researched by synthesizing in the same injection-type that is currently out in the market, and the effect of suppressing inflammation and angiogenesis has been confirmed.
Curigin is a gene therapy company based on multi-target RNAi technology and anti-cancer virus platform with unique cancer specificity, trying to reach more fundamental treatment of cancer and various diseases. Also, 3S (smart/safe/speed) are Curigin’s outstanding part. First, cancer is expressed by a special gene, and there is a smart system that finds these genes using big data and our own algorithm. Second, it is producing safe anti-cancer viruses by mounting a cancer-specific promoter that does not work on normal cells but only on cancer cells. Lastly, it can significantly reduce the time from speedy development to production.
Juvic is developing a microneedle platform that delivers drugs into the epidermis without tissue damage or pain by supporting the drug on a microscopic structure that melts in the body. In particular, it is possible to effectively deliver drugs in the body while maintaining the activity of the drug through its own technology. Its microneedle platform is attracting attention for medical applications.
BlueBeaker’s Medical Illust refers to the content created for effective communication of information in medicine and biology. It is used in various places such as education, research, development, and publicity through simple and intuitive visualization of complex and difficult structures. BlueBeaker has a library of contents searched by researchers such as organs, cells, and surgical instruments, finds and purchases high-quality images created by professional artists or studios, and even provides customized contents to save the time and effort from searching for the right image. It also provides a 3D program to adjust the color, saturation, direction, and size of the image.

Forest Running Mate is a system that connects a smartphone, TV screen, and treadmill. When you run the application on your smartphone and select a course from the app, the selected course appears on the TV screen. And, when the user adjusts the speed on the treadmill, Forest Running Mate recognizes the speed adjustment and adjusts the speed of the video.

Prime Medi Lab’s SmartWalking:SWM-V2 is an advanced treadmill for safe aerobic exercise. It uses the state-of-the-art sensors such as 3D spatial analysis, heart rate, SPO2 (oxygen saturation) in real time in fast walking mode to protect joints to analyze the posture and exercise load standard inspection system (bruce protocol) with AI to help the users have safe and efficient exercise habit.
The products and services of the major companies of KHIDI Health Industry Startup Innovation Center in the MIK Hot Spot (Made in Korea Online Exhibition) will also be displayed in BIO KOREA 2020. Asia’s biggest bio convention BIO KOREA 2020 co-organized by KHIDI and Chungbuk Province and sponsored by MOHW will be open online due to the COVID-29 pandemic on May 18-23. Virtual exhibition halls, conference, and business forums will be operated, and the companies will be promoting their competitiveness. Also, with video meetings, businesses between overseas speakers, buyers, and domestic and foreign participating companies will be made. To date, more than 160 companies have applied for the virtual exhibition booth at BIO KOREA 2020. Companies wishing to participate can apply through the web page or email by Apr. 30.
